Private sector intelligence: on the long path of professionalization

Private sector intelligence is on its way to professionalization, but the road a long one and destination uncertain. Studies of professionalization have not yet systematically analyzed private intelligence, field that focuses mitigating geopolitical security risk supporting decision-making. This paper leverages author’s extensive empirical research with reference five key pillars professionalization: shared identity, knowledge advancement, training education, code ethics, certification. The article concludes implications for professionalizing proposes further this understudied field.
